http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/11/23/503129818/study-finds-students-have-dismaying-inability-to-tell-fake-news-from-real Nowadays, some kids are so influenced by technology that their ability to distinguish fake news from real news is severely hampered. Technology and social media has led many kids to simply believe whatever they see without questioning the sources, the evidence, and checking to see if all the facts check out. Now a staggering amount of kids will believe anything if they see a picture and a caption, which is a dangerous to our future generations. What if our willingness to accept statements is later used against us in a horrible way? Children should hone their skills and question the world around them instead of simply accepting whatever they hear. It’ll teach them to look for evidence and guarantee that what they hear is correct.
